After an early breakfast, set out with your safari guide to explore the riverbanks and surrounding plains, with the day's route planned around recent wildlife sightings and herd movements.

During the migration season, thousands of wildebeest may gather near the river, often accompanied by zebras. The herds sometimes wait for hours before attempting to cross. If a crossing takes place during your visit, you may witness the dramatic sight of wildebeest entering the water and navigating the currents while crocodiles wait nearby.

The northern Serengeti also offers rewarding wildlife viewing beyond the migration. Look for lions resting in the grass, leopards in riverside trees, cheetahs scanning the plains, and elephants moving through the landscape. Hippos and crocodiles are often associated with the river, while birdlife adds to the area's diversity.

Travel south through the Serengeti's changing landscapes, enjoying game viewing along the way. Keep an eye out for wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants, topis, and other antelope species. Predators may also be encountered as they follow the movement of grazing animals.

Upon reaching central Serengeti, explore the Seronera area, where permanent water sources support wildlife throughout the year. This region is particularly well known for lions and offers good opportunities to search for leopards along the riverine vegetation.

Continue through the scenic landscapes towards the Ngorongoro highlands, where open plains gradually give way to rolling hills and cooler, greener surroundings. Depending on your route and timing, you may enjoy views of the highlands and the spectacular scenery around the conservation area.

Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in the Ngorongoro area or Karatu during the afternoon. Spend the rest of the day relaxing, enjoying the surroundings, and preparing for the following day's descent into the Ngorongoro Crater.

After an early breakfast, travel to the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable wildlife experience. Descend into the crater in your 4x4 safari vehicle and explore its diverse habitats, which support a remarkable concentration of wildlife.

During your game drive, look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, and numerous bird species. The crater is also one of the best places in Tanzania to search for the endangered black rhinoceros, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area before continuing your exploration of the crater floor. Later, ascend the crater walls and begin your journey back to Arusha.
