Best things to do during holiday in Tanzania

Whether you're interested in wildlife, culture, adventure, or relaxation, Tanzania has something for everyone to

Spectacular safari! I just returned from a fantastic 12-day safari to Tanzania thanks to Aqon Safari (in conjunction with Mkuu Safaris). During our time, we visited four national parks - Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Northern Serengeti. In addition there were visits to a Maasai village as well as visits to other local tribes in the Lake Eyasi area. Everything about the safari was incredibly memorable. Jane (Mkuu) is a wonderful and diligent planner, connector; she seeks out the finest in opportunities for her clients. She loves Tanzania and seeks to show others the beauty, inspiration, culture, and wonderful people of the country. Samwel, our Aqon guide, first and foremost, loves his guests. He loves sharing his beautiful country with them, and loves using his great knowledge, his animal spotting gifts, his sense of humor, and his kindness to make the most of every day and every drive. He is wonderful teacher! Every lodge/camp accommodation was beautiful - clean, upscale, managed by incredibly attentive staff. Delicious lunches (and even a breakfast!) in the bush were a special treat. My favorite stay of all was the Siringit Migration camp in the Northern Serengeti ... gateway to the awesome wildebeest migration across the Mara River. A hot air balloon ride over the river at sunrise was absolutely amazing, too. I cannot imagine a more impacting safari experience than what Aqon provides. I can't wait to come back!

An Unforgettable Journey Across Tanzania with the Best Local Team! Choosing a local company is important to us and Aqon truly showed us the heart of Tanzania. As a locally-owned travel company, their deep roots and insider knowledge made all the difference in our experience. We've travelled with them twice before and have had the most incredible experiences! From the moment we booked, everything was seamless. Our guide, Sam, is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and spotted wildlife we would have never seen on our own. Every detail from airport transfers to accommodations were handled with perfection, we always feel safe and cared for. Experiencing the endless plains of the Serengeti, the massive elephant herds of Tarangire, the lush landscapes of Lake Manyara, and the breathtaking wildlife concentration inside Ngorongoro Crater was an absolute dream. Supporting a local business that genuinely cares for its guests and homeland made all the difference. We can't recommend Aqon Safari enough!"

Unforgettable adventure Trip of a lifetime with Aqon. Samwell is one of my favorite humans, ever. He speaks 6+ languages fluently, he’s a fantastic driver and knows soooo much about every species.

The Best Guide and Tanzania Experience!!! We enjoyed our 3 weeks stay in Tanzania starting from Arusha to Zanzbar. Got to see the Big Five and Masai Mara crossing, cultural immersion with 3 different tribes and lots and lots of lions, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, flamingos, starlings and more! Hot air balloon ride was awesome! Would like to come back soon and go with our friend and guide Samwel!!!

Best Safari Company in Tanzania!! A safari with Aqon is like no other vacation you can possibly envision. From the minute you arrive from the minute you sadly leave, Aqon has it covered. Literally everything was thought of. From his awesome jeep (it’s not really a jeep, it’s a safari trekking, but comfortable beast of a vehicle), to the camps and accommodations, to the delicious food, exciting game drives, and nights watching bush TV with a cold drink, reliving the day with your fellow travelers…it’s all been considered and taken care of for you!! The camps Aqon selects are unpretentious but exceptional to say the least. Simply put, they were all absolutely wonderful! Beautiful lodgings, great lounges, enjoyable food, and the staff at every one we had the pleasure of staying with went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome, comfortable, and at home. Of course, there’s the wildlife…. what ‘s a safari without it? With Sam and Aqon there’s no shortage of game sightings. From birds to reptiles, insects to the big 5 plus, we watched them all, spent time with them all, and “connected” with them all. That’s what so different about Sam, his style of game driving is so informative, and his enthusiasm is so infectious, every interaction just gets progressively better! Just when you think you’ve seen everything imaginable, you turn a corner and another door into this marvelous, awe-inspiring world opens and you’re just as enthralled as you were when you came across your first elephant, looking you in the eye, deep into your soul. What a magical place it is. This was our second trip to Tanzania, and just like last time, we were blessed to have Samwell as our guide. Guide isn’t quite the right word to describe Sam though. He’s more of an emissary, or ambassador for a land he’s so proud of, and the natural world he’s genuinely in sync with. His knowledge of literally every living thing is truly astonishing to behold, and his ingrained sense of conservation is not only impressive, but enlightening! Spending time with Sam has honestly changed the way we see the world. He’s the best teacher I’ve ever had, an inspiration, and we’re honored to call him our dear friend. Thanks again Sam, and everyone at Aqon for another trip that we’ll never forget!! We will be back, and when we do it will be with you!
